The Rings of Power is a prelude to the cinematic saga
Prime Video surprised fans today by releasing the teaser trailer for the long-awaited second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
The new teaser trailer features Charlie Vickers returning to the iconic role of Sauron. The villain, known as one of the greatest antagonists in fantastic literature, appears in a completely new form, ready to deceive and dominate the inhabitants of Middle-earth.
J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age
The preview takes viewers back to J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age, offering a glimpse of Sauron’s evil rise and ruthless quest for absolute power. In addition, the trailer reveals the return of characters beloved by fans, such as Galadriel, Elrond, Prince Durin IV, Arondir, and Celebrimbor, while introducing the exciting creation of the new Rings of Power.
In the second season, we witness the return of Sauron, stripped of his strength and allies, and forced to use his cunning to rebuild his domain. With the creation of the Rings of Power, he seeks to subjugate all the peoples of Middle-earth to his evil will, plunging the world into increasing darkness. Elves, dwarves, orcs, men, and all the races of Middle-earth fight to preserve what is most precious: their freedom and unity.
The series is a unique journey that brings to life the heroic legends of the Second Age of Middle-earth. With a narrative rich in detail and stunning scenery, the plot transports viewers to a period of great deeds, the fall of kingdoms, and the rise of the most feared evil.

The second season premieres on Prime Video on August 29, and the clips shared during San Diego Comi-Con show a big fight with orcs and rings being forged.
The showrunners revealed that the new season of Rings of Power is about “entering the nuclear age and everyone wants the bomb, everyone wants the nuclear codes, but what they don’t know is that all of this feeds this guy [Sauron]”. Adar and Sauron will come into conflict with each other, and giant creatures will abound this time.
The series promises to involve viewers in an epic, action-packed journey across the universe of Middle-earth.
